Vesta Lofts was home to the Vesta Battery Company a century ago, and was converted into 59 loft apartments and 10,000 SF of retail space by Time Equities and JK Equities, and in the process was named to the National Registry of Historic Places. The interiors express 100 year old exposed brick and heavy timber, oversized historic windows, high ceilings, yet contain modern amenities. Vesta Lofts is located in the South Loop, one of Chicago’s most vibrant neighborhoods. Close to two “EL” stops and several bus lines and highways, it is also near Grant Park and Lake Michigan, the Museum Campus (Adler Planetarium, Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum), Soldier Field and the Wabash Restaurant Corridor’s great eateries and nightlife. A Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and McCormick Center complete the picture of nearby conveniences.
Project features include 14-17 foot high ceilings, fully modern “designer kitchens” with stone countertops and islands, stainless steel appliances, in-unit washer/dryers, fully tiled showers and tub surrounds, oversized closets, a rooftop deck with dynamic city and lake views, a fitness room, convenient bike storage, and storage lockers for each apartment. JK Equities admirably performed the day to day oversight of the development, while Glenn Erikson was Project Director of Development for TEI, the managing member of the development entity.
